Objectives
Learning objectives:
-Understand the importance of Spreadsheets for the organization.
-Understand the importance of databases in defining organizational strategies.
-Know and use the functionalities of Spreadsheets.
-Know and use the functionalities of Databases.
-Develop database management applications that include spreadsheet functionalities.
Teaching/learning methodology:
- Expository process -Active process with the aim of learning through individual exploration of specific software.
-Use of simulation to put the student at the center of the teaching/learning process.
-Real-world approaches to bring theoretical and practical teaching closer to the demands of the job market.
The theoretical component will use a combination of expository (concepts) and interrogative methods, while the practical component will use the participatory method and the resolution of exercises. -
Teaching Methods
The methods to be used include: ?Expository processes Active processes with the aim of verifying: Learning by discovery through individual exploration of specific software; Learning through research underlying the realization of research tasks in a specific field. Use of simulation to put the student at the center of the teaching/learning process. Real-world approaches to bring theoretical and practical teaching closer to the demands of the job market. In the theoretical components, a combination of expository (concepts) and interrogative methods will be used. The practical components will use the participatory method and exercise solving.

Content Explanation
The course presents the potential of spreadsheets and databases to support the activities of human resources technicians. It is considered that the use of Spreadsheets and Databases can be of particular interest to enhance decision-making and the acquisition of competitive advantages by organizations. Considering the following as fundamental -Understand the importance of Information Systems and Information and Communication Technologies in an organizational context. -Knowing and using spreadsheets. -Knowing and using databases. -Know how to use software with spreadsheet and database management functions to improve organizational performance. In this way, providing systematized information and databases capable of storing the information needed for organizational decision-making is the challenge of IS/ICT contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.
